This assessment is a required step for anyone applying for ADP funding.

Who qualifies for the ADP Lymphedema Adviser assessment?

An ADP-registered authorizer (such as an OT, PT, RN, or RMT with CDT training, depending on the category) completes the clinical assessment and required ADP paperwork.
3. Vendor Fitting & Submission
A certified ADP vendor measures and fits the garments, then submits the application along with the authorizer’s documentation.

Do I need a doctor’s referral for an ADP Lymphedema Consultation?

This is typically provided by a specialist such as an oncologist, general surgeon, vascular surgeon, plastic surgeon, physiatrist (physical medicine and rehabilitation specialist), or dermatologist when lymphedema is related to chronic skin or lymphatic conditions.

For renewal applications, documentation from a family physician (GP) is often sufficient. Any required documentation can be reviewed and discussed during your consultation to ensure all ADP requirements are met.

Do you complete the ADP paperwork?

Yes. All required ADP documentation is completed and signed as part of your consultation. Alice completes the authorizer portion of the paperwork, after which the ADP-registered vendor completes their portion.
The vendor typically submits the completed application to ADP on your behalf, helping ensure the process is accurate, complete, and properly coordinated.

ADP typically covers 75% of the approved cost of compression garments. Clients are responsible for the remaining 25%, and funding follows a set replacement schedule.
